its very difficult for a common man to stop it because of ladies at home like if son's mother took dowry when she got married same she expected on her son's marriage. This an hereditary disease. To complete remove this dowry system govt should take some action. (anamika)
The main cause of increasing divorce in these days is incompatibility and modern life style. Most of the parents in Punjab only give the preference to settle their girls in abroad and did not want to know the family background of the boy and his family.
